I live in North Yorkshire working as a painter and illustrator. My paintings in acrylics and oils often recall remembered places and experiences and reflect my interest in tradition and heritage.
The stone walls and barns of the Northern Dales have been recurring images in my work, typifying preciousness, protection and enclosure. More recently I have been interested in the coast and explored its tradition and myths.
I use strong colour and texture and often employ narrative in my paintings, stemming from my work as an illustrator.
